Based in the tranquil village of Ballinahown Co, Westmeath, Core Crafted Design is not new, nor is it old. It is merely the next stage in a perpetual evolution of ideas, creativity and spirituality. Situated near the ancient monastic college of Clonmacnoise, it is fitting that Core Crafted Design is itself housed in an old schoolhouse. The vintage stylings of the building merge easily with the contemporary design of the new outlet to create an apt showcase for the largest selection of craft designers, artists, and creative’s in the midlands.

Quality, design and originality are paramount at Core and as such, all designers partake in a stringent assessment process to ensure the project represents the pinnacle of craft and design from Offaly and Westmeath. The outlet is also spearheading the growth of craft and design in the area by facilitating makers in showcasing their designs while also arranging demonstrations and craft classes for those interested in exploring their creative talents

Visiting Core Crafted Design is a unique experience in itself. The aroma of freshly ground coffee, and the temptation of locally baked artisan food from the Core café is tempting as one browses the extensive range of locally produced crafts, including ceramics, jewellery, paintings, glasswork, paper, woodwork, textiles, and metalwork. The attention to detail is evident throughout the outlet, down to the beautifully presented gift wrapping, to ensure that as you leave you can be confident in your purchase of a beautifully hand crafted piece of designer work

The Crafts Council of Ireland has chosen Core as the flagship outlet for their innovative new project which on completion will see over seven outlets open throughout Ireland,the focus being on Irish Craft and developing its excellence on a national level.
